Wigwe University, founded by the late Access Bank CEO, Herbert Wigwe, is set to begin academic activities by August, 2024.
The top elite university is situated in Isiokpo, Ikwerre LGA of Rivers State, Nigeria. The school's university website indicates that the school fee per academic session starts from N9.6 million (quite expensive, right?) But trust me, this school is worth the money considering the standard put in place.
Wigwe University promises to offer a diverse range of programmes across four major Colleges; the College of Engineering, College of Science and Computing, College of Art, and finally the College of Management and Social Sciences.
According to the school's website, students in the College of Art would pay N9.6 million as mentioned earlier, while the other colleges will pay N11.9 million per student. This may be the most expensive university in Nigeria. The school fees reportedly covers tuition, health insurance, e-learning resources, laboratory supplies, among others.
Other additional charges include the Accommodation Fee which ranges from N1 million per month to N3.8 million per session.
The university had appointed its first Vice Chancellor, Prof. Miles Davis (USA) earlier this year. Davis holds a Doctorate in Human and Organisational Sciences from The George Washington University, USA.
Sitting on the Board of Trustees is Prof. Fabian Ajogwu (SAN), Mrs. Mosunmola Belo-Olusoga, Dr. Ajoritsedere Awosika, among other distinguished personalities.
Wigwe University promises to deliver best international standard in the delivery of quality education as seen on its website. In addition to that, the school will also offer international exchanges of students between foreign universities, isn't that good!
The world class university boasts of staffs comprising a blend of foreign and home based nationals.
The late billionaire founder, Herbert Wigwe, had died alongside his wife, Chizoba Wigwe, and Son, Chizzy Wigwe, in a fatal helicopter crash on February 9, 2024.
"I cannot change the world overnight. But if I can empower even one youth today, tomorrow, they could join me in empowering others. With time, we could change the world", one of Wigwe's message before his demise.
And that's all you need to know about the Wigwe University, hope this article was helpful? Thanks for reading!
