Man bags 30-years imprisonment for cutting off wife’s hand because she couldn’t bear him children

A man identified as Stephen Ngila, has been jailed for 30 years for cutting off his wife’s hand because the latter didn’t produce him any children.

The court in Machakos, Machakos County, jailed the 39-years-old man for attempted murder after chopping off his wife, Jackline Mwende’s hands with a machete in 2016.

Presiding over the case, Justice Brenda Bartoo said the court had taken note that the accused was not remorseful for the offence.

Ngila, however has 14 days to appeal the court verdict.
