The Federal Government of Nigeria has released a whooping sum of N10billion to support the local production of COVID-19 vaccine in the country.
This was disclosed by the Minister of Health, Dr Osagie Ehanire, while speaking at the Presidential Task Force (PTF) briefing on Monday, January 18.
According to the Minister, the Federal Government is working tirelessly to develop the country’s own vaccines, as it is exploring the option of local production of vaccines in the country and have had discussions with some producers.
He affirmed that while the nation seeks to get its own vaccines, other options are being explored for licensed production in collaboration with recognized medical or health institutions.
