COVID-19: Adhere to our advisories if you don't want another lockdown - PTF

The Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19 has warned on another likely lockdown with the rising cases of the pandemic virus in the country. 

National Coordinator of the PTF, Dr Sani Aliyu, while speaking on a media programme on Sunday, January 3, said that the only way to prevent another lockdown is by adhering to the PTF advisories. 

According to the PTF Coordinator, the only way to avoid another lockdown is by the regular using of facemasks, avoiding mass gatherings and people suffering from respiratory tract infections, and other laid down preventive advisories. 

“If numbers continue to go up, all options are on the table. There are countries in the world that have been able to control this pandemic simply by following these non-pharmaceutical interventions. They may be inconvenient, but they will not be as difficult as a lockdown,” he said.
