Lekki Shootings: You Lied To The World About Nigeria _ Buhari's Aide, Lauretta Onochie Attacks CNN

Special Assistant on Social Media to President Muhammadu Buhari, Lauretta Onochie, has attacked an American-based news channel, Cable News Network (CNN), over release of its findings from an independent investigation on the Lagos Lekki Toll Gate incident which occurred on October 20.

While slamming the international news media in a tweet posted on Thursday, November 19, Lauretta stated that the CNN lied to the global community and that Nigeria will not be intimidated.

“I’m not upset that CNN lied to the world about my nation, Nigeria. I’m upset that they think we are so stupid that we will swallow their lies. We won’t be bullied into believing a lie!," she tweeted.

This is coming after the CNN had released an earlier statement saying that it findings showed that live bullets were being fired at peaceful #EndSARS demonstrators at the Lagos Lekki Toll Gate on October 20.

Meanwhile, the Nigerian Government and Army respectively has refuted reports of alleged involvement in the Lagos Lekki shootings.
