According to Oluseyi Soromekun, who serves as the National Information Officer of the Nigeria UN, Police Officer Ugorji portrays and exemplifies the best of UN policing with her action and words.
Meanwhile, of the 1,300 UN policewomen deployed for UN peacekeeping missions, twenty-one (21) were only nominated for the prestigious award.
However, Chief Inspector Doreen Malambo of Zambia, serving with the UN Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) is to recieve the award which is to be presented during a virtual ceremony to be presided over by Mr Lacroix on Tuesday, November 3.
Officer Ugorji joined the Nigeria Police Force in 2003, served as Criminal Investigator from the local level to regional.
Also served as Child Protection Officer, Divisonal Crime Officer, and Acting Deputy Commander of the Ogudu Police Divison in Lagos, respectively.
