A Nigerian soldier was beaten up by a combined team of police officers and Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps operatives, over alleged refusal of the military man to wear his face mask in Lagos street of Benin city, Edo state.
This happened on the 9th of May, 2020. it was reported that the unknown army man with his wife were asked to wear their face masks by the policemen and NSCDC officials on duty, the soldier had brought out his official ID card to identify himself but was tagged fake by the security operatives.
The soldier was however furious when one of the police officers pushed his wife with a gun so as to force her wear her face mask properly. This resulted to a hot dispute between the two parties as the soldier was injured on his head.
Pandemonium erupted in the community when men of the Nigeria Army stormed the area and shooted sporadically on the air to scare away the police officers and NSCDC officials.
