Headmistress in Oyo state leases school premises for block moulding activities


The Headmistress of Community Basic School, Ologuneru, Ibadan has been accused by the Oyo State Government for allegedly leasing the school premises for block moulding activities.

It was reported that Mrs Felicia Ogunride illegally leased the school premises to one Seun Elegbede who runs a block moulding industry.

The accusation was confirmed by the state's Chairman of the Universal Basic Education Board, Dr Nureni Adeniran during a press briefing had said that eight persons have been apprehended in connection with the act.

He showed his displeasure against members of the public fond of using public properties for other personal use.

He further stated;

They have turned one of our classrooms into a bedroom, with their personal belongings scattered around the school. Invaders have taken over some of our public schools despite the fact that they are fence. The invaders break in, destroy the property and create nuisance in government schools,” (Culled from PUNCH) 

The model school was part of an intervention project, collaborated by the Federal Government and the state  wing of UBEB at the Agbopa-Akufo Farm Settlement in the Ido Local Government area of the state.
