The Rivers State Government, through the Executive Governor "Nyesom Wike" had earlier this month ordered the demolition of Prudent Hotel, over refusal to comply with Government's directive on total lockdown in the state.
The protesters who were seen carrying different placards demanded the release of the hotel manager identified as Azoroh. This is coming after the state government had announced that Azoroh was among the 27 new cases of COVID-19 recorded in the state, Azoroh with the other patients had been taken to one of the state's isolation centres.
However, the owner of the hotel, Promise Gogorobari, stated that Azoroh was hale and hearty and was just being detained illegally.
