The All progressive Congress, (APC), has disclosed that all governorship aspirants in the Edo and Ondo state upcoming elections will pay a sum of N22.5m each. This is in lieu as part of its requirements to partake in the states governorship elections slated for September 19 and October 10, 2020, respectively.
This was disclosed by the party's National Organising Secretary, Emma Ibediro, through a timetable released in Abuja on Wednesday.
According to Emma, the party will begin its sales of forms to aspirants in Edo from 20th of May to June 2, while that of Ondo state will commence on the 11th of June to 1st of July, 2020.
From the breakdown, 2.5 million naira is for expression of interest forms, while 20 million naira is for nomination form.
Female aspirants and physically challenged aspirants are to only pay 50% of the prescribed fee, there shall also be no seperate charge for the deputy.
The Edo APC governorship primary is slated for June 22 while that of Ondo is to hold on July 20.
The Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC), had on February fixed the governorship elections on the 19th of September, and October 10, 2020, for both Edo and Ondo states respectively.
