Nigeria Customs Service rejects the 1,800 bags of rice returned back by the Oyo State Government


The Oyo and Osun Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service has rejected the 1800 bags of rice returned back by the Oyo State Government.

The 1,800 bags of rice had been donated to the state by the federal Government on the grounds of COVID-19 palliatives, the state government had stated that the rice were unfit for consumption and was planning to return it back to the Nigeria Customs Service who donated it on behalf of the Federal Government.

This was when the officials of the government sent to return back the rice were denied entry at the state zonal headquarter of the Nigeria Customs Service.

The officials who were led by the Oyo state Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development "Jacob Ojemuyiwa" said the team would report back to the State Executive Council for further steps.
